Every morning I wake up and there it is: a craving, a need-my brain recognizes an urge for my phone. I don’t sleep with my phone in the same room. I left it the night before in my studio, and that’s what the internet says, right? If you leave your phone in a different room, you likely won’t pick it up the next morning. But with an ADHD brain, your brain seeks dopamine, and early in the morning you are not thinking clearly, so you look for the easiest path to your morning shot.
So I will try to make a plan to change the wires in my brain and not use my phone for at least an hour after I wake up.

Problem

Start the day and grab the phone.

Why?

Because it’s the most and easy way to get dopamine, the main reason is social media, then the browser, news, email, any of that is a necessity.

Consequences

  • attention residue: the incapacity of the cognitive system to transfer the totallity of its resources from TaskA to TaskB.
  • Brain Drain: the celphone drains all the execute function the brain has early in the morning, affecting all day long.
  • Paralysis by procrastination: high

My proposed solution

put more friction between me and the phone by blocking the access to the device by leaving it, more far away from its current location.
